I think this is a great idea for a unit! Gotta avoid preachy, though. Setting it up so the kids figure out for themselves that the choices and responsibilities (accepted or refused) lead to all those consequences... That's the tough part about the best teaching moments, isn't it? Getting them to have those, "Ah hah!" moments - getting them to actually go somewhere using their own minds and their own steam. Heady when it happens - and this material is potent stuff, should make a for a pretty long loud whooosh when they get there.
