Writing pal Bob Mustin has always been proactive about getting his stuff out in the public eye. A former editor of an independent literary journal, an early veteran of e-publishing, he has recently published to Kindle his novella The Blue Bicycle.
Now he has also gotten an independent publishing website, the Indie Spotlight, to feature The Blue Bicycle on their front page. Click on his link, and you'll be taken to an interview about the novella and Bob's career as a writer, and you'll get to read the first chapter for free.
The Blue Bicycle begins as a first-person narrative told by second-grader Artie Royal, and the voice is dead on. You are in the head of a young boy with chocolate stains around his mouth and a passion for riding fast on his two-wheeler. I will not give away anything more than that, except that it's a fine read and will whet your appetite for more.
I downloaded the Kindle for Mac to get the whole thing, and will be interested to discover how this whole e-reading thing goes. We just moved house, and the boxes of books are endless. Could it be that having your books stored on a wafer of silicon is a better idea? Stay tuned.
And happy summer reading, all.

Thanks, David, for the shout-out, and for the compliments. I do like the idea of books-on-wafer, as you put it, especially at moments such as moving time.
