and a blog post. Last night PBS showed a 50-minute special on the Parthenon of Athens, the monumental temple to the goddess Athena and once the "largest structure in the world made entirely of marble."
If you'd like to take a look, the network has divided the show into convenient morsels. I caught about 11 minutes of it last night on a break between drafting my essay on romance novels for our local daily (more on that later). The show itself has a very nice 3-D CG rendering of what the temple would have looked like in antiquity. Nice.
